What to Expect at Parkersburg First Assembly

A COMMUNITY OF CARING PEOPLE

We realize visiting a new place can be intimidating. That is why we try to make it as easy as possible for people to visit First Assembly for the first time.   When you first arrive, you will be met by greeters who will help you get acquainted. As you enter you will see people of all ages and backgrounds. You are not going to be asked to stand up, or be singled out in any way. You will probably find a lot of people here just like you.   We believe you will sense the fact that we value each individual, and there is always a place for you!

A CELEBRATION OF FAITH

The services at First Assembly are intentionally planned for the spiritual development of the entire family. The worship experience features uplifting contemporary and traditional music, and a practical, relevant message from God’s Word, the Bible. Our main goal is to apply God’s truth to our everyday living.  During our morning services we have First Kids Children’s Church for children ages 5-12, Toddler Church 2-4 years old, a Private area for Nursing Mom’s and a Nursery.

Many other opportunities for children, youth, young adults and virtually every age can be experienced in our various ministries and services that meet throughout the week.  Be sure to browse our ministry tab options for more information.

A COMFORTABLE AND ENCOURAGING ATMOSPHERE

When someone attends a church for the first time, they often worry that what they wear may not be appropriate.  We hope you find a warm, welcoming atmosphere at First Assembly. You will see a wide variety of clothing styles—from suits to jeans, from dresses to capri’s. Our concern is not what you wear, but that you are comfortable in what you wear so you may focus on the message of God’s love for you.
